This set celebrates one of the most prolific and technically dazzling condujctors of all time.  Between 1972 and 1982, Lorin Maazel was Music Director of The Cleveland Orchestra and his complete Decca recordings from this time are collected here.  They include Decca's first recoding in Clevland, Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet and the first complete stereo recording of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.  Under Maazel, the Cleveland Orchestra became "the most beautifully balanced Amcieran ensembe".  Time Magazine
