These recordings were made in 1941, when Madame Lehmann was appearing extensively in lieder recitals. Aufträge, Der Nussbaum, Venetianisches Gondollied, In Questa Tomba Oscura, Der Kuss, zur Ruh', zur Ruh' and Schmerzen are released for the first time.

The label differs from the US release "Columbia Masterworks ‎– ML 5778", having a single CBS "eye" in the centre of the label, not the 2-eye "360 SOUND" label
