Center labels: ℗ 1967 / Made in England [Musician credits (from liner notes): "On the first side of the record I'm assisted by a fine group of young people from my home town of Beacon, New York. It's not an organized chorus in any sense. We got together in the summer of 1966 to do two programs for the CBS Television Network non-de-nominational religious show "Lamp Unto My Feet." The programs were well-received; we added a few more friends and neighbord and recorded these songs here with only a few brief run-throughs. One could hardly call them rehearsals. Harmony was improvised." At the end of the introduction to Down By The Riverside, Seeger writes: "Here let's thank Danny Kalb, and two of his electric friends for giving some rhythmic assistance which the foregoing songs needed. I suppose this will shock some of my friends. (...) Also thanks to John Hammond, Jr., for the harmonica. He strolled by the studio and we snagged him." ------------------ Cartography by Richard Harrison, from At Home Around the World, Second Edition, published by Ginn and Company.
